Proven Project Management appointed to deliver Chung Wah Association community centre in Bentley

Proven Project Management attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chung Wah Association’s new Bentley community centre, marking the start of construction.

Proven Project Management was proud to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the Chung Wah Association’s new multipurpose community centre in Bentley on 22 January, marking the official commencement of a significant civic and multicultural project.

With a history spanning more than 150 years, the Chung Wah Association is Western Australia’s oldest culturally and linguistically diverse organisation. The new Bentley facility will support the Association’s expanding services, including aged care, community language programs, childcare, and cultural activities, strengthening its long-standing contribution to the WA community.

Proven has been appointed as Project Manager for the development and will oversee delivery of the new community centre from early works through to completion. The project will be delivered in close collaboration with the Chung Wah Association, government stakeholders and the wider consultant and construction team.

The ceremony was attended by senior representatives from across government and the community, including Roger Cook, Premier of Western Australia; Patrick Hall, Mayor of the City of Canning; Chung Wah Association President Andy Yuan; Senior Vice President Ting Chen; representatives from the Office of Multicultural Interests; and Ms Fu Lihua, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Perth.

Representing Proven Project Management were Greg Rowe, Director, Gavin Tucker, Director, and Jeremy Mitchell, Project Manager. Gavin Tucker addressed attendees, acknowledging the significance of the project and the strong collaboration between community leaders, government and delivery partners that has enabled the project to move forward.

The realisation of this land-mark facility was made possible through the close collaboration between the Chung Wah Association, the State Government, and the Office of Multicultural Interests, reflecting a unified commitment to Western Australia’s multicultural landscape.

The groundbreaking marks an important milestone in the delivery of a purpose-built community hub that will serve current and future generations. Proven Project Management looks forward to leading the delivery of this project and supporting the creation of a facility that reflects connection, inclusion and long-term community value.
