This week marked the successful handover of the new Faculty Health Sciences Phase 3 Refurbishment Project at Curtin University’s Bentley Campus. The refurbishment spanned multiple levels in Buildings 308 and 405, with the intention to consolidate the Health Science Faculties at Curtin University. The scope of works included the demolition of redundant services and the upgrade of bathroom amenities, furniture, cabinetry, as well as the enhancement of mechanical and electrical infrastructure within both buildings.
Overseen by Senior Project Manager, Rachel Thorogood, Assistant Project Manager, Hamish Rodgers, and the Lead Design Consultant, Luke Geiles of LT Architects, the project presented distinctive challenges due to its location in a live environment occupied by students, staff, and research facilities. Innovative risk mitigation strategies were required in collaboration with the Head Contractor, W. Fairweather & Sons and Consultant Engineers, Stantec, to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
